Airflow volume is only half of fan selection

Multiply bushels by the selected cfm/bu target to get required airflow. Then choose a fan that can deliver that airflow at the expected static pressure for the crop, depth, floor, transitions and ductwork. Horsepower alone does not establish delivered airflow. Deeper grain generally increases resistance. An aeration target for keeping dry grain in condition is not automatically sufficient for natural-air drying. Use manufacturer fan curves and the correct crop resistance data.
